My fresh blueberry muffin was freaking amazing. It was ALMOST better than sex and that's not something I say very often about food. It made my morning and put me in a happy mood. When I visit again, I definitely will be getting another muffin.

I was doing some work at the Jung Hotel over the course of two days, and I hit this coffee shop, located therein, 3 times.

I like this place, even if the coffee is a bit pricey. I can't complain as I know why it's pricey: 1) It's a coffee shop located in a brand new hotel. 2) It's located on Canal street and the foot traffic is off the walls.

The staff here is really great and they have all the fancy stuff as well as teas and I think they also have smoothies. Like any good coffee shop they have a nice variety of pastries and sandwiches and they have Abita Amber in their cold case, if you're looking to party.

I got their iced coffee which was VERY good- it was nice and rich and it had a lot of flavor. The space is small, but there are plenty of tables if you want to work and the nice big windows give you a good view of the world passing by outside.

If you're in the area this is a good place to stop for your caffeine fix.

Every day we stopped in here while staying at the Jung. I couldn't start my day without an espresso and I don't know how I will go back to normal life!
The espresso is smooth, I had a breakfast sandwich and it was good. There is also a variety of muffins quiche and yogurt parfaits.
The staff is really nice, couldn't have asked for a better experience.

I had heard that they were in partnership with Abita Roasting Company which happens to be my favorite of the many great coffee options here, so I made a point to check this place out.
Easily accessible by taking either of the Canal street cars towards the cemeteries or City Park and getting off at LaSalle. The Daily Grind is on the left side of the street about a half of a block further up towards the I-10 overpass.
I was there about 2:30 on a Monday and it was not very busy. There are a variety of comfortable chairs scattered around the location, bar style window seats facing Canal, and some high top round tables, so plent of seating for busier hours.
I visited on an odd numbered day in February which means it was warmer than usual so I went with an Iced Mocha and a Chocolate Babka Muffin which was warmed up for me. I am usually not a fan of iced coffees but the great coffee in New Orleans have swayed my opinions. This one was outstanding. The flavor was very strong and lasted until the last sip. The muffin was also quite impressive. I don't know where they get them from, or what time they arrive, but at 2:30 pm, it was still very fresh.
Although they do not yet have the coffee & chicory from Abita yet (my favorite) the overall quality of the Abita products will make this a stop anytime I have an appointment at Tulane Medical. As a side note, if you are familiar with Abita Roasting Company, the coffee beans for sale here are in different packaging, but it is the same product.
